I was scared of driving and have struggled to learn over the years, but I took the plunge and booked in with Bobby. In 3 months he took me from scared to be in the driver’s seat to passing my restricted license test on the first attempt. Bobby is patient and kind, but will tell it straight when he needs to, which is rare and makes for an amazing teacher. Thank you Bobby for your efforts and teaching me!

Bobby is a wonderful and cheerful guy and also a wonderful teacher and driving instructor. Whenever I made a mistake Bobby would point it out not in a condescending way but in a retrospective way where I could understand what to do next time. Whenever I didn't understand something he would make sure to take the time to explain it in multiple ways, catering to my style of learning over time. Whenever it got really stressful or overwhelming Bobby was also greatly supportive and understanding and didn't make me feel bad or anything close. That being said if I kept repeating mistakes, he'd made sure I knew and we would keep working on it until I got it right all the time. As a teacher it's hard to draw a line of making sure the student knows their doing something wrong and making them feel bad because they keep making the same mistake and being cautious about that but Bobby handles those situations very well and keeps reaffirming that he brings the mistake up not to put me down but to lift me up because if I know I need to work on them and we keep at, I'll feel much better and more confident when I get it right every time. Which is exactly what ended up happening and was a key reason for my improvement over time. Overall I have absolutely no complaints and only praise for Bobby, I will absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to get lessons from new lynn in the future. 10/10

After completing many driving lesson, learning and practicing techniques, I wanted to leave a review on my AA driving instructor, Bobby. Bobby has been the best instructor I could have asked for. Starting out as a nervous driver and a bit of a slow learner behind the wheel, my various lessons with Bobby have completely changed my mindset and expanded my driving skill set on a completely different level. He’s been patient, clear and calm throughout the entirety. To add, I absolutely loved his parallel parking technique! It made such an infamously difficult manoeuvre unbelievably easy. I passed my restricted today on my first go, couldn’t have done it without Bobby!

I just wanted to send a big thank you to Bobby Pahwa for helping me to get my restricted license last week. :) I really recommend him for nervous students because he is patient, considerate, and very calm. The calm environment that he created really helped to reduce my anxiety, which helped me to build my confidence and focus. I also think that he is a great fit for neurodivergent students such as myself, because he does not set expectations based on how the majority of people learn or how long it takes them to learn something new. He focuses on understanding what the individual student struggles with and what works best for them. This structured and methodical approach was exactly what I needed.

It has been a very interesting and amazing experience driving with this instructor. I had the pleasure of him being my instructor for over a year and he had helped me grow so much. When I started, I was all over the place, I couldn't even do the most basic things. After that time goes on, he had helped me grow extremely well as a safe driver. I don't know anyone better than him at being a driving instructor and would highly recommend him for beginners and experienced drivers alike.

Bobby is the most fantastic Driving Instructor I could have asked for, without a doubt. He is such a wholesome and talented instructor; he's so knowledgeable about the road and driving, he's got a hilarious sense of humour, and he's truly made me feel comfortable and excited to drive. The Road Code only teaches so much; Bobby's advice truly is invaluable. And his parallel parking technique is absolutely superb. I've heard many tales of how difficult parallel parking is - but Bobby's shown me otherwise! With his flawless four step technique, every single parallel park becomes a perfect park. Bobby makes it so easy. It's a skill I'll use for a lifetime, and you'll be left questioning all those stories! I've had so many lessons with Bobby, and they've been some of the best moments. Bobby is such a friendly and humble person, funny and loving to talk, and every so often he'll give you amazing pieces of life advice. My big goal for the summer was to earn my restricted licence, and I am so grateful to Bobby that I've made this big milestone. I could not have done it without his incredibly kind support all the way. Bobby's equipped me with all the knowledge and skills I need, and thanks to him I've become a much more confident and safer driver.

I am a student of Bobby’s which we have been doing lessons together for about a year and a half, maybe longer. He has been an excellent teacher in combination with his skills of patience, communication, tolerance and the perfect balance of formality/informality. Bobby does an incredible job of making you feel at ease and safe while driving. He caters to every student’s needs individually. I was an extremely anxious driver with almost zero experience. He never raised his voice, lost his cool or anything like that. Not once. His techniques for teaching are very effective, since after sporadic weekly lessons after just a year and a half, I passed my restricted license test. One thing in particular though, is his own parallel parking technique. It is absolutely foolproof, it works perfectly every time and I am grateful for him to share it with me. Seriously, it’s perfect! I will always be grateful for Bobby and his teaching. He is a great asset to our community, making every driver under his wing another safe driver on the road. He’s an effective communicator who is absolutely a great asset to the AA Instructors team. Also he is a great impression of AA, he represents them well and professionally. Before meeting Bobby, I was a fearful driver, who lacked the confidence and skills needed to pass my restricted drivers test. After having failed my drivers test three times, I was convinced that I would never pass and felt completely stuck! This all changed when I started getting lessons from Bobby. Bobby never doubted me and my ability to drive. He made me feel comfortable at the wheel and reassured me that with the right skills and practice I would be able to get my drivers license. Bobby was kind, patient and thorough. He taught me important driving skills and helped build my confidence as a driver, I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. I just wanted to email you to express my utmost satisfaction with the quality of professionalism and service provided to me by my driving instructor Bobby. When I booked with Bobby in preparation for my restricted driving test a few years ago, I passed it first time with a couple of points to work on. I was extremely satisfied with the level of expert tuition I was given at that time, so after I booked my full licence practical test, I thought of Bobby and proceeded to book a couple of preparatory sessions with him. Once again, I was extremely satisfied with Bobby. His expert advice made the hazard identification part of the test so easy. On the 8th of May I did my full licence practical test and passed it with no errors and no general feedback. The testing officer at VTNZ New Lynn said it was a flawless pass. I wish to express again a big thank you to Bobby for his professionalism, patience, and care as he conducted driving sessions with me. He always gave me very helpful advice and expert driving tips. I will recommend AA Driving School and of course Bobby as a driving instructor to anyone who needs professional driving instruction with a highly professional and patient driving instructor. I've been learning to drive from Bobby for the last few months. I just took my restricted driving test today and I passed!

Bobby is an incredible driving instructor. He customises each lesson as per your needs, really brainstorms what works best for you and makes astute observations of your strengths and areas to work on. He is encouraging throughout and is evidently dedicated to delivering the best driving classes each time.

As a nervous driver, he provided helpful and constructive advice that was timely and easy to understand. He also picks up on my driving patterns and gives me helpful tips on correcting/perfecting my technique.

He is also extremely patient and motivating and celebrates your little successes. Which is encouraging for someone who can be hard on herself.

Highly recommend Bobby, he teaches you to be a safe driver and not just to pass the test.

Molly really enjoyed Bobby’s driving tuition. She found he gave a really good balance of providing constructive feedback as well as recognition when she did well. Bobby’s instructions and feedback were tailored to doing well on the driving test which gave Molly a lot of confidence when it came time to take the test, which she passed first time. Bobby is an excellent instructor; he made the learner driver feel at ease and explains everything well and gave lots of useful advice. Bobby also made time to let the learner evaluate the perceived position of the car by inspecting the position of the car relative to the pavement and other obstacles so that the learner could get perspective of distances from the driver position.
