I had a great experience with Charanjeet Singh while preparing for my Full Licence test. I only had two one-hour lessons with him, and that was enough to make me feel confident and well prepared.
VTNZ ended up changing my test location, so I tried to book another lesson to practice around the new area. However, Charanjeet reassured me that I was already ready and didn’t need another lesson — and he was absolutely right, as I passed my test!

Learning to drive on the left side of the road as an American was a big adjustment, but Gary made it easy. Over the course of four lessons, he figured out early on how I learn best and kept things clear. We spent time drilling the MIB routine (mirrors, indicator, blind spot), which made a huge difference when handling roundabouts, lane merges, motorway driving, and parallel parking. Phil's teaching approach creates a safe and stress-free environment in the car. While not being afraid to provide the hard constructive feedback when it is needed. In every session you will come out of it with experienced, highly knowledgeable and easy to understand feedback to further develop your driving skills. Putting all of it together, it provided me with a platform to grow in confidence as a learner driver, while working through my weak points.
People often underestimate the difference a calm and adaptable instructor can be, especially when learning to drive a manual. Personally, I could not imagine a better mentor to have been on this journey with.

I had one lesson with Mo 4 days before my full licence test and before that I was not confident for my test. I’ve had one lesson a week prior with someone else, unfortunately the information given at that lesson wasn’t as detailed as when I had my lesson with Mo. I’m so thankful I booked with Mo, because that one lesson had given me so much confidence for my test. He was very clear and patient in the way he communicated and very thorough with all the information you need to know. He was supportive and had a calming effect which made it easier to learn and retain information. I am so happy that I passed my full on the first go and that was all thanks to Mo’s guidance!

I recently completed my Class 1 full licence conversion from an overseas licence, and had the pleasure of taking three Practice Full Test sessions with Alan Lidsky ahead of my test at VTNZ Glen Innes.
Alan was patient, thorough, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed — not just pointing out what I got wrong, but clearly explaining why it mattered and how to fix it. After my first session, I had some specific habits to work on (particularly blind spot checks and judging amber lights), and Alan's clear, practical feedback made those easy to correct. By my final session, I was scoring a clean 10/10 across every category.
He was also flexible in letting me practice in my own vehicle, which made a real difference in building confidence ahead of the actual test.
Thanks to Alan's guidance, I passed my practical test on my first attempt. I'd highly recommend him to anyone converting an overseas licence or preparing for their full licence test — his experience and calm, structured teaching style made all the difference.
Sid is an exceptional driving instructor who helped me get my restricted licence. He’s very on to it and is always quick to point out things you can improve on. He’s very calm, patient, and super helpful when it comes to helping you progress into a confident and capable driver.

Philip is the only person you should pick to be your instructor. He is very patient and knowledgeable of all things related to AA and preparing for driving tests. Philip creates a very comfortable and calming demeanor in your car, and this contributes to your confidence in driving and learning. Divish was very calm and kind the whole time during my learning. He always gave kind and useful feedback and gave me very helpful tips and tricks to improve my driving. I passed my restricted first go thanks to him. His instructions and feedback were always clear and specific as well. He improved my driving so much.

I genuinely enjoyed the lessons with Shefali. She's extremely patient and also skilled in how to teach newbies to drive confidently, even if you are a grown up over 30, driving the first time in your life. I got excited before every one of our lessons to learn something new in a safe way. Luckily she's not just sitting there like a puppet and telling you do this do that, but also gives you the reason why are you supposed to do that, making it really easy to understand and remember later on when practicing without an instructor. I also enjoyed our chats beside driving and will be coming back to practice before the restricted exam to go there prepared.

I’d give Mr Chandra a 10/10. He is an amazing driving instructor, patient, calm, and very encouraging, which has helped me become much more confident behind the wheel. He explains things clearly and uses diagrams on his iPad, which makes different road situations much easier to understand. He also gives really useful tips and techniques that I can remember and apply while driving.

I had never driven before and was completely new to driving when I started learning with David. Thanks to his patient, detailed, and highly effective instruction, I was able to pass my restricted licence test on my first attempt.
David is an incredibly patient instructor and is especially good at encouraging his students. Rather than asking me to memorise driving rules and procedures, he always explained the reasons and logic behind them first. Once I understood why something needed to be done, I naturally remembered how to do it.
